Work Package 1

Management of the ArcRisk project (Work Package 1)

With 21 contributing partners responsible for producing 56 deliverables over the four year duration of the project, a well-defined project management structure is a key component of ArcRisk.

Work Package 1 - comprising the overall management of the project – is designed to ensure that the ArcRisk work plan is implemented according to the stated objectives. A process evaluation system developed in Work Package 5 will provide an important tool for tracking the work to ensure that the project produces results that will be useful for the final synthesis and outcome.

Other management activities, such as handling the contractual and financial arrangements and reporting obligations, also fall under this work package.

Work Package 1 is coordinated by the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme Secretariat (AMAP). The project coordinator (Janet Pawlak) is supported by a Project Coordination Group that includes of the leads of the other work packages, and the Project Coordination Office at the AMAP Secretariat.

The ArcRisk project management structure is shown in the diagram below.
